Hello there.
I have a newer distro than was available on the old site

I got it from a game dev a few years back.

The last public version is the one you are currently offering (installer 
v2.0.7.0), but I thought you may like to have a copy of the newer build made 
later that same year (2009)
I have no idea if there was a problem with it, but I have used it for a very 
long time without any issues in many games and even with Winamp.
I suspect it was more like the site did not get updated after a while and it 
was just not posted.

Installer version 2.1.0.0
DLL Version numbers:
OpenAL32.dll version 6.14.357.25
wrap_oal.dll version 2.2.0.7

As you can see the OpenAL file is only 1 revision newer, but wrap_oal is 
several revisions newer.
Users of the current OpenAL Soft distros are recommended to install the 
original OpenAL so they have wrap_oal.dll

I would also like to suggest that you add ALCapsViewer to your current 
download options, as without it there is no way for users to confirm 
installation and functionality if they are having problems.
This tool is still very useful as it works with other 3rd party builds of 
oAL.

Most of the binaries can still be pulled from the web archive, and you can 
get the newer Windows build from my google drive
