OpenAL Soft 1.22.1 is now released and available to download:

https://openal-soft.org/

This is primarily a bug fix release. An issue with the EFX source
property AL_AIR_ABSORPTION_FACTOR causing excessive high-frequency
attenuation has been fixed, along with capture issues on macOS and
Android. Linux systems without PipeWire or PulseAudio should more
reliably use ALSA instead of the sndio backend that's likely to fail.

On Windows, certain 5.1 devices should work more correctly now, along
with devices that aren't configured with a particular speaker layout.

For PipeWire support, version 0.3.23 or newer is needed, and requires
the same or newer version at runtime than the library was compiled with
to work.

There have also been some improvements to EAX support, and 3D7.1 has
been changed to be a separate channel configuration, making it simpler
to use with a built-in configuration.

As always, if you run into any issues, the issue tracker will make it
easy to keep track of: <https://github.com/kcat/openal-soft/issues>. Or
you can send a message to this mailing list, IRC, or my email, if those
work better for you.

Thanks for looking!
